Covenant Class—Room 214

Loosely titled "Taking It To the Streets," this class reviews in a more in-depth manner the topics of sermons preached by Pastors Chris Joiner and C.J. Thompson.

 
All of these sermons can be found on the church’s website at www.fpcfranklin.org. They can be downloaded or read online.  Paper copies of sermons will be provided for those who do not have computers and access to the internet.


  
Bible Class—Room 207

This class is currently using the Old Testament video series by Professor Amy-Jill Levine, Vanderbilt University Divinity School Professor.  Following the completion of this series, the class will turn to the fascinating story of the Dead Sea Scrolls' discovery, research and publication.

  


Adult Forum—Room 208

This class is currently wrapping up a video program by Dr. Bart Ehrman of the University of North Carolina on the first four centuries of Christianity, including a study of various "scriptures' that were used by competing Christian groups of that time period. 

 



Young Adult Class — Parlor

This class welcomes all young adults (college age and up).  We are reading Brian Mclaren's A Generous Orthodoxy.






Living Faith Class—Room 213

This class is currently using NOOMA Video Series, a series of short films to explore our world from a perspective of Jesus.  
  

 

Kirk Class—Room 212/Choir Room

This class is studying "The Great Hymns of the Church".  Their mission is to study and reinforce our faith by reviewing the history of the church, as well as the reformed tradition and theology. 

   

Exploration—Room 211 (Barr Conference Room)

New Members and Inquirers Class—Room 201

Those seeking information about the Presbyterian Church USA and what it means to be Christian in our world are invited to join this fellowship. Designed for those who have recently joined, those considering membership in the church, ane even those members who just want a "refresher course" on the denomination and the role First Presbyterian Church plays in sharing the "Good News of the Gospel," this class meets periodically throughout the year in eight-week sessions.

 

Christian Faith and Life Class—Room 206

This class continues its in-dept Bible study of God's Word in its original hitorical context, to better understand its meaning for believers in biblical times, and in our contemporary lives, to better understand its meaning for us today.
