Wednesday Night Live Adult Study
God in a Great Read: Faith and Books

This fall adults in Wednesday Night Live will explore matters of faith in classical and contemporary literature. Whether your reading habits are Shakespeare or Stephen King, whether you are a voracious reader or can only manage one book a year, everyone can find a way to connect with this study.
Each session will take one author and place her/him in conversation with Scripture and theology to explore the great themes of faith: grace, redemption, forgiveness, joy, community, trust, and many more. A synopsis of each book will be provided every week, so whether you’ve read the book or not, or if you read it a long time ago, you will be able to join in the discussion. There will be a mix of presentation and discussion, and plenty of ways to follow up at home.
Some of the authors we will explore include John Updike, William Shakespeare, Barbara Kingsolver, Mark Twain, Stephen King, Anne Lamott, Wendell Berry, John Milton, Flannery O’Connor, Dostoevsky, James Lee Burke, Garrison Keillor, and many more. A reading list of “Must Read” books will be developed by the group and distributed at the end of the series.
Plan to come at 6:00 p.m. to enjoy the world famous Wednesday Night Live meal and stay for the study.
