VBS 2010

Galactic Blast Vacation Bible School held the week of June 21, 2010 was a huge success.   We had the pleasure of hosting 280 children during our week of VBS.  To accomplish this task we had the help of over 80 dedicated volunteers (of which 30 were our own youth volunteers).

Every inch of our church was alive and buzzing as we transformed the rooms into space centers with cosmic adventures praising God. We discovered that our God is a wonderful, incredible, amazing, magnificent, and awesome.  He is with us at all times, even when we cannot see him.  Through Rocking Assemblies with wonderful music, interactive Bible stories, cosmic craft projects, and Orbital Observatory experiments, the children experienced God’s love.

Our week ended teaching us that we can be just like a supernova when we “explode” with the excitement of our faith and share the good news about Jesus with others.  From that explosion, new stars for Jesus are formed!

Our mission project focused on helping our less fortunate neighbors in Williamson County; we collected needed food items and laundry detergent. Our 5th & 6th graders (over 30 strong) had 3 mission trips during the week.  They delivered items to Graceworks, visited residents of Claiborne Hughes Health Center, and played and interacted with the children at the boys and girls club.

Another great week of VBS is in the history books and we are beginning to think about VBS 2011.  We look forward to seeing you at VBS next year.
