2009 Vacation Bible School |
During the week of June 22nd, 280 children and 100 dedicated volunteers Experienced and Discovered God Everywhere at Camp E.D.G.E. Vacation Bible School.
We discovered that God is our friend and is with us at all times, in all places, and in all circumstances, ready to help, teach and guide us. Through interactive Bible stories, music, art, science and recreation, the children experienced God’s love. Jesus knew that the best way to teach people about love is to show them love. The week ended with us all being commanded to share the Good News as Jesus had commanded his disciples and to show what we learned this week through our deeds and serving others.
Our mission focus this year was Graceworks ministries. We collected laundry detergent, shampoo, and other items which the 5th & 6th graders delivered to Graceworks on Thursday and then toured the facility. Our 5th and 6th graders also visited with residents of Claiborne Hughes Health Center.
Vacation Bible School is a very special time in our church and we could not have done it without all of you. Thank you to everyone who made this week possible---camp counselors, activity center leaders, the 40 youth helpers, nursery workers, our Thursday night cookout committee and those who made donations to the program. Your commitment of time and sharing of your gifts and your generous donations allow us to provide this quality program.
